Ben Gilvey Associate
Trainee Patent Attorney
Ben is a trainee Patent Attorney with a wide range of experience in engineering.
Prior to entering the patent profession, Ben conducted research into numerical solution of the Helmholtz equation, and in particular, into numerical aspects of boundary element basis functions. This research was conducted at Durham University as part of an EPSRC funded PhD. During his PhD studies, Ben authored journal articles and presented his work at numerical methods conferences. In addition to his research, Ben has worked in the robotics industry, supervised environmentally-friendly construction projects, and worked on commercially available engineering analysis software.
Education:
Ben has a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Northumbria University and a PhD in Computational Mechanics from Durham University.
